Bouquet Inspired by Murakami

Brides, take note: theme your wedding around your love of books! This bouquet would work for any bride with navy, grey, teal or yellow color schemes.

I have a slight obsession with Haruki Murakami, particularly the editions with John Gall's lovely covers. Coupled with my love of flowers, it only seemed right to create a bouquet inspired by one of my favorite books: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Check it out:

What I love about this arrangement is the unexpected. For one, dusty millers are generally used with pink or white bouquets, but here I've added them in-between bright yellows to reflect more grey tones and soften the look. While eryngiums (the blue spiky flowers) are commonly used with yellows, I love that just a few stems is all it takes to register the blue of the bird. And of course, the real statement here is the golden chrysanthemum and its bird like feather petals. Add a little keepsake to make it personal. Shown above is my Lulu Frost Plaza Necklace.
